With all the endorsements posts that we often see in social media by our favorite influencers, makes us question, does KOL marketing really matters for brands? Let’s take a look at a few facts that we can put our hands on. First of all, what is KOL? A key opinion leader can be defined as someone who’s considered a connoisseur of a certain topic and whose opinions are respected by their public, thanks to their trajectory and the reputation they’ve built for themselves.
Why does KOL matters? A KOL is someone from the outside of the brand who are asked intentionally from the brands to create a great impression of their product, in return for money or other in kind luxuries. KOL matters more because KOLs are considered experts and recognized more in the fields that they are experts in.  Therefor, KOLs are really valuable for brands at marketing strategies, since they already gain trust from the target markets in their fields of expertise. For example, we seek at the traces from our favorite foodie bloggers when we are looking for restaurant recommendations or current food trends, we watch the toner reviews from our favorite make up youtubers when looking for recommendations. That’s why KOL matters, people tend to feel more connected and encouraged by the people are not so different than us and understands the things that we are looking for. With the help of social media, KOLs are really in trends now by uploading endorsement, reviews, feedbacks etc on their social media accounts. So there it is, the truth about key opinion leaders, and may the brand with the best KOL wins. :)
